The Candidate for the People: A Story of Community, Leadership and Resiliency with Kelly Goyette
In today’s episode Steph has the honor of interviewing one of her fellow Studio instructors and best friends, Kelly Goyette. Kelly has been an instructor with Zen and Pow Studio since 2017 and a member since 2015. She has been certified to teach multiple formats throughout the past 5 years, including POUND, Barre, Pumped Up Strength, Group Fitness Certification, and teaching her soul workout, Sculpt. Kelly continues to be a dedicated member to the Zen and Pow instructor staff and the leadership skills she learned as an instructor encouraged her to push out of her comfort zone, taking on the position of Clerk of Court for LaCrosse County.
Seeking out an elected position was never something she thought she would do, however she always knew working with the public and utilizing her leadership skills would be something she would gravitate to. Kelly is currently running a write-in campaign for Clerk of Court and hoping to be able to continue to serve this amazing community. From fitness enthusiast, to a veteran instructor, to now the Clerk of Courts in just the past 5 years—both public roles that forced Kelly to put herself out there to the community–listen in as Kelly discusses what inspires her to take on big challenges, how she’s built confidence and resilience, and the full circle moments that led her to this point in her life.
